CE Credit Available | 1 CE Hour
Join psychoanalyst, Zen teacher, and psychedelic therapist Dr. Megan Rundel for a wide-ranging conversation on how concepts of self and no-self shape psychedelic experiences and their integration. Drawing from Buddhist psychology, psychoanalysis, and years of clinical work with psychedelics, Megan will explore how ego dissolution is understood and misunderstood, why some clients may benefit more than others from these profound shifts in identity, and how to help people integrate non-dual or no-self experiences into their lives.

SPECIAL GUESTS:
Megan Rundel, Ph.D., is a Trainer with Fluence, and a psychoanalyst, psychedelic therapist, and Zen teacher based in Oakland, CA. She is a Personal and Supervising Analyst and faculty member at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California and serves as a guiding teacher at the Crimson Gate Meditation Community, where she leads Zen practice with an emphasis on bringing insight into everyday life.
MODERATED BY:

Together, we’ll look at what ego dissolution actually means, how to think about patient selection and clinical readiness for these experiences, and the complex work of integrating profound states that challenge ordinary identity. Megan will also discuss common pitfalls, like spiritual bypassing or using “no-self” frameworks to avoid vulnerability, and how clinicians can ethically and skillfully navigate these conversations.
This event will benefit clinicians, students, and anyone curious about:
- Understanding what ego dissolution and non-dual, no-self experiences really mean in psychedelic practice
- Considering how a client’s sense of self and identity guides decisions about who may be well-suited (or not) for ego dissolution or no-self experiences
- Learning how to help clients integrate ego dissolution or no-self experiences without losing stability
- Bringing together insights from Buddhist psychology and psychoanalysis on these profound states
The conversation will conclude with a live Q&A. Reserve your spot and join us for a thoughtful, practice-grounded dialogue.
